The many faces of Oreo

Ever since my New Orleans trip, I have been on a quest to try to understand my dSLR to its full capability, at least all the feature available that will help me to take better pictures. Without much cooking project lately, I ran out of material to photograph, until Oreo decided not to leave me alone most of the time, and giving me some different looks when I try to mess with him.

Over the past few weeks, I have accumulated photos that I snapped  here and there when I think Oreo look the most adorable.

Oreo either sleep on his belly, or sleep on his back, but for some reason, one time he decided to lay on his side while watching me cook in the kitchen. Instead of grab my camera and run toward his bed, I had to make slow and quiet step to approach him, otherwise he will get too excited and get up. While I was making sneaky step approaching him, he lazily look at me, observe what’s going on before he spend more effort to get up, I have no idea why he lift his leg! I swear he looks like some one get caught with his pant down!

When I work in my home office, I kicked Oreo out as he would bother me on the keyboard. These days he knows to leave me alone once I get into my office, but he still wait at my office door, look frustrated and sad because I don’t play with him

I haven’t done much close up shot of Oreo as he always want to play and lick all over the place. I decided to take up the challenge, to test my high speed photography skill.

Oreo also learn to press my buttons, he knows I would not ignore him if he sits up, like a panda bear.

His big head, short leg and long body just make him look uniquely cute.

Sometimes I think he knows how to work the camera!

When he get excited, he just lay his paws on my lap, and look at me with a doodlely eyes.

As Oreo started to sit up more often, I notice that he likes to stick his tough out, still don’t know why.

I swear, sometimes he looks like a miniature panda bear, especially with that furry paw!

I also has to watch out for Oreo’s nail, there were time they get too long and sharp, they scratch my hand, and leave a scar on my left hand which take a long time to heal.

Once he gets your hand in front of him, it didn’t take long for him to start nibble at your finger, like kid with pacifier.

The nibbling soon turn into gentle bite, which I really think Oreo has oral fixation issue.

He looks almost irresistible with the sad/guilty look.

The waiting look is somewhat serious.

Once he started to get your attention, he looks more awake.

Oreo and milk!  Well, that’s Chip, his play date, and is a male dog! It turns out it’s the way dog show who’s dominant.

Oreo is capable of sit up on his own, especially with treat dangling above him, but with out treat, he always need a helping hand.

As Oero’s hair get long, you almost can’t see his neck, and he’s like a giant fur ball sitting up.

Trying to photography him taking a nap really need gentle footstep as he get alert easily.

But once you stand there long enough, he will give up looking at you eventually.

He also has the habit of waiting in the middle of the stair when I walk up the stair, as if he’s waiting for me to chase him.

One day after he got his hair cut, which they didn’t cut very much, I decided to stop at the middle of the stair instead of go all the way up. Oreo thought I don’t want to play with him and give me that “Oh come on, you leave me alone again” look.

Oreo looks really goofy when he has long hair, the problem is he shed like crazy as the season transition. He now has a much shorter hair, but that will be another post in the future.

    Hi bro,

Oreo looks like my mixed terrier Goldie. Wish they have a chance to be together. For his teething problem you could get a doggie bone from pet stores. They are actually cow’s skin. They are tied up like bome. It gives them satisfaction to chew something otherwise he’ll start cjhewing your shoes or furniture. You should bring him to groomer to trim the nails as well.
