Location: A Steam Boat buffet restaurant at Kota Kinabalu (my hometown), Sabah (the state), East Malaysia Description: Mordern style Steam Boat with grilling pan. The cast iron bowl in the middle is filled with stock, raw food (meat, vegetable, wan ton etc) is left in the bowl, and cook to boil in front of you. When it's cook, just scope out the food using a slotted ladle, and transfer to your bowl. As the food cooks in the stock, the flavor in the stock get stronger, and tasty to drink as soup. The new Steam Boat style has small stock bowl because of grilling pan around the bow. For people who like grilling taste, marinated meat and vegetable can be grilled on the flat pan. The base is connected to a propane tank. |
